A Shavuot Celebration

The Jewish Chagim have always been a part of my life. From as far back as I can remember, every Shavuot I would take a box of fruit to Shul and place it amongst all the others at the ark. Every year, whether it be Pesach, Rosh Hashanah or Chanukah, the Chagim had significance, traditions and long lasting childhood memories that I still recall with utmost clarity.

My kids are starting to form memories of their own. Evie has a very special friendship with Zoe, her friend that she has “known” since about 8 weeks old at the early days of myself and Irene meeting at the council mother’s group. I know that this friendship will change, as such is life, but I hope that these memories, formed in conjunction with the celebration of the Chagim at kinder and many other moment’s of life, will be recalled upon in years to come.

A four year old friendship made of fruit offerings and flower garlands.
