11/52

Ice cream. Definitely one of the best inventions known to mankind. It is available in such a wondrous array of colours, varieties and combinations and nourishes the soul like few other foods. It is also a source of calcium for growing bones (I kinda feel compelled to add in the dietitian’s stamp of approval).

As summer starts to draw to a close, we have taken advantage of the last few weeks of daylight saving, with family time at the pool and evenings watching the kids run through the sprinkler in the backyard with ice lollies meting and dripping down their chins.

Evie: She polished off her Smartie ice cream before we could blink…and even tried to eat the paper and all.

Jake: He insisted on taking on the allmighty Maxibon. Of course after 3 bites, it was game over. Maxibon: 1 Jake: 0

Together: The kids helped to make watermelon and mint ice lollies and enjoyed devouring their home-made produce.
